About this Journal
Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters (SRHM) is excited to announce that it is currently transitioning to self-publishing.
The journal will reopen to new submissions very soon. All new submissions will be made via this platform, which is hosted in partnership with Janeway. Please see our updated Information for Authors before starting your submission.
If you are submitting a revised manuscript that was previously submitted via Taylor & Francis’ Editorial Manager or Submission Portal platforms, please proceed via those sites. The SRHM Editorial Team will continue to handle already-in-progress manuscripts there.
All previously published SRHM articles and issues (currently available here) will be transferred to this platform in due course, and once the transfer is complete all new journal content will be published exclusively here.
SRHM is a peer-reviewed, international, open access journal that welcomes contributions by authors from all parts of the world. Our overall mission is to enhance, share and use knowledge and evidence for the advancement of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The journal welcomes manuscripts from multiple disciplines that explore emerging, neglected and marginalised issues across the breadth of SRHR globally. We aim to ensure that rigorous evidence- and rights-based analysis is used to inform advocacy, policy and practice, and that articles bring together diverse voices and perspectives from around the world, with emphasis on those working at grassroots level and in resource-limited environments.
SRHM is the official journal of Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters (SRHM) – a global charitable organisation whose remit is to advance the creation and dissemination of sexual and reproductive health knowledge that is grounded in human rights and based on credible evidence, and to facilitate the transformation of such knowledge into action for improved SRHR. While the journal and the organisation are intrinsically connected, SRHM is editorially independent from SRHM.
SRHM is a society journal that does not partner with a commercial publisher. Its submission-to-publication system is managed by the Editorial Team and hosted in partnership with Janeway.
Once an article has been published in SRHM, the More Than a Journal team at SRHM will work with the editors and authors to promote the article and, where agreed/appropriate, to create additional materials and conduct further activities such as podcasts, blog posts, webinars and press releases.
As an open access journal, all SRHM articles are free to access for readers worldwide. Because of this, there is an article-publishing charge (APC) that is applicable following acceptance. Full details about APCs can be found in the Information for Authors.
