About this journal

Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters (SRHM) is a peer-reviewed, international, open access journal that welcomes contributions by authors from all parts of the world. Our overall mission is to enhance, share and use knowledge and evidence for the advancement of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). The journal welcomes manuscripts from multiple disciplines that explore current and emerging, neglected and marginalised issues across the breadth of SRHR globally. We aim to ensure that rigorous evidence- and rights-based analysis is used to inform advocacy, policy and practice, and that articles bring together diverse voices and perspectives from around the world, with emphasis on those working at grassroots level and in resource-limited environments.

SRHM is the official journal of Sexual and Reproductive Health Matters (SRHM) – a global charitable organisation whose remit is to advance the creation and dissemination of sexual and reproductive health knowledge that is grounded in human rights and based on credible evidence, and to facilitate the transformation of such knowledge into action for improved SRHR. While the journal and the organisation are intrinsically connected, SRHM is editorially independent from SRHM.

SRHM is an independent journal that does not partner with a commercial publisher. Its submission-to-publication system is hosted in partnership with Janeway.
